Job description

Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements. Record all financial transactions, such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, using accounting software or manual systems. Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable processes, including verifying invoices, processing payments to vendors, and reconciling statements. Ensure timely payment of bills while optimizing cash flow management. Accounts Receivable: Oversee accounts receivable functions, including invoicing customers, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue payments. Implement effective credit control measures to minimize bad debts and improve collections. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data, industry trends, and organizational goals. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Generate financial reports and analysis to support decision-making by management and stakeholders. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns accurately and on time. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and advise management on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Audit Preparation and Support: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of financial transactions. Address audit findings and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial performance and profitability of the organization. Interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making. Cash Management: Monitor cash flows, analyze liquidity needs, and manage banking relationships to optimize cash management and working capital. Prepare cash flow forecasts and projections to ensure adequate funds are available to meet operational needs and financial obligations. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and ethics, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Uphold ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and business practices.
