Job description

Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Record financial transactions, track expenses, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and operating plans to support business decision-making, resource allocation, and financial performance monitoring. Analyze variances, identify trends, and provide insights to management to optimize financial outcomes. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax returns, in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Stay updated on tax laws and changes, identify tax-saving opportunities, and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax efficiency. Audit Support: Coordinate and support external audits, internal audits, and regulatory examinations by providing auditors with access to financial records, documentation, and explanations as needed. Assist in resolving audit findings, addressing inquiries, and implementing recommendations to strengthen internal controls and compliance. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial health, profitability, and operational efficiency. Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to management for strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Cost Management: Monitor and control costs, expenses, and overheads to optimize financial performance and achieve budgetary targets. Analyze cost drivers, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost reduction initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Cash Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure adequate funds are available for day-to-day operations, debt service obligations, and capital investments. Monitor cash inflows and outflows, forecast cash needs, and implement cash management strategies to optimize cash utilization and minimize financing costs. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and industry standards, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and maintain financial integrity. Financial Systems: Utilize accounting software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and financial management tools to streamline accounting processes, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance data accuracy and integrity. Leverage technology solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and reporting capabilities in financial operations. Financial Planning: Assist in financial planning activities, including long-term financial forecasting, capital budgeting, and investment analysis. Evaluate investment opportunities, assess financial risks, and provide recommendations to management to support strategic initiatives and growth objectives. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, sales, and procurement, to align financial objectives with business goals and initiatives. Communicate financial information, analysis, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, department heads, and executive management to support decision-making and drive organizational success.
