Job description

Financial Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounting software, to track income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions. Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements to provide an overview of the organization's financial performance and position. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, and monitoring actual financial performance against budgeted figures to identify variances and make recommendations for improvement. Accounts Payable: Managing accounts payable processes, including processing invoices, verifying expense claims, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payment to suppliers and creditors. Accounts Receivable: Managing accounts receivable processes, including invoicing customers, tracking payments, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling customer accounts to ensure accurate and timely collection of receivables. Payroll Processing: Processing payroll transactions, including calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes, preparing payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations. Tax Compliance: Assisting in tax planning and compliance activities, preparing and filing tax returns (such as income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax returns), and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data, trends, and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement, opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement, and potential risks or challenges. Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud and errors, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting. Audit Preparation: Assisting in the preparation for internal and external audits, providing documentation and support for audit procedures, and addressing audit findings and recommendations as needed. Financial Management: Providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making, strategic planning, and resource allocation. Professional Development: Staying updated on accounting principles, regulations, and best practices through continuing education and professional development activities, and maintaining relevant certifications or licenses.
