Job description

Financial Reporting: Preparation of financial statements including balance sheets, income statements (profit and loss accounts), and cash flow statements. Compiling financial data and presenting reports to management for decision-making purposes. Bookkeeping: Recording financial transactions accurately in ledgers, journals, and accounting software. Maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring all entries are reconciled. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Managing accounts payable (payments to suppliers, vendors, etc.) and accounts receivable (customer invoices and collections). Ensuring timely payments and monitoring receivables for overdue accounts. Tax Compliance: Calculating and filing taxes accurately and on time, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax. Staying updated on tax regulations and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data and trends to provide insights into business performance and profitability. Conducting variance analysis to compare actual financial results with budgeted expectations. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitoring budget variances and providing explanations for deviations. Audit Support: Coordinating with internal and external auditors during audits and providing necessary documentation and explanations. Implementing audit recommendations and improving internal controls based on audit findings. Financial Systems and Controls: Establishing and maintaining financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity. Monitoring internal controls to prevent fraud and errors in financial reporting. Cash Management: Managing cash flow and liquidity by forecasting cash needs and optimizing cash balances. Reconciling bank statements and monitoring banking activities. Financial Compliance: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and company policies. Keeping abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Participating in strategic financial planning initiatives and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Conducting scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to assess financial risks and opportunities. Communication and Collaboration: Communicating financial information effectively to stakeholders including management, investors, and external parties. Collaborating with other departments such as sales, operations, and human resources to achieve organizational objectives. Professional Development: Continuing education and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and best practices. Obtaining certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) to enhance professional qualifications.
