Job description

Financial Record Analysis: Reviewing and analyzing financial records, statements, ledgers, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations. Internal Control Evaluation: Assessing internal controls and accounting procedures to identify weaknesses, inefficiencies, or areas of non-compliance. Recommending and implementing improvements to strengthen internal controls and mitigate risks. Audit Planning and Preparation: Developing audit plans, objectives, and procedures based on risk assessments and audit objectives. Determining the scope of the audit, selecting audit samples, and preparing audit documentation and workpapers. Financial Statement Audit: Conducting audits of financial statements to verify the accuracy and fairness of financial reporting. Examining financial transactions, accounts, and disclosures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Compliance Audit: Performing compliance audits to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, contracts, and internal policies. Reviewing financial records and operations to assess compliance with tax laws, industry regulations, and company policies. Fraud Detection and Investigation: Identifying indicators of fraud, misconduct, or irregularities during the audit process. Investigating allegations of fraud, embezzlement, or financial mismanagement. Implementing fraud detection techniques and controls to prevent and detect fraudulent activities. Risk Assessment and Management: Assessing financial and operational risks to the organization and developing strategies to mitigate risks and enhance controls. Identifying emerging risks and recommending proactive measures to address potential vulnerabilities. Communication and Reporting: Communicating audit findings, observations, and recommendations to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Preparing audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for corrective action. Continuous Improvement: Contributing to the improvement of accounting and auditing processes, procedures, and methodologies. Staying abreast of developments in accounting standards, auditing techniques, and regulatory requirements. Ethical Conduct: Adhering to professional ethics and standards of conduct in accordance with regulatory bodies such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) or the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Maintaining independence, objectivity, and integrity in all audit activities.
