Job description

Curriculum Development: Designing and planning accountancy lessons, activities, and assessments that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives. Developing instructional materials and resources to facilitate student learning and comprehension. Financial Accounting Instruction: Teaching financial accounting principles, including recording transactions, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial performance. Providing instruction in double-entry accounting, accrual accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Managerial Accounting Instruction: Teaching managerial accounting concepts, such as cost behavior, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis. Explaining how managerial accounting information is used for decision-making and performance evaluation. Accounting Software Training: Introducing students to accounting software programs commonly used in the industry, such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero. Providing hands-on training and practice in using accounting software to perform accounting tasks and transactions. Financial Analysis: Teaching students how to analyze financial statements, interpret financial ratios, and evaluate business performance. Explaining the significance of financial analysis in assessing profitability, liquidity, solvency, and financial health. Auditing Concepts: Introducing students to auditing principles and practices, including audit planning, risk assessment, internal controls, and audit procedures. Explaining the role of auditors in verifying financial information and ensuring compliance with regulations. Taxation Education: Providing instruction in basic tax principles, including tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements. Teaching students how to prepare tax returns, calculate taxes owed, and comply with tax obligations for individuals and businesses. Professional Ethics: Discussing ethical considerations and professional standards in accounting practice. Emphasizing the importance of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and professional conduct in the accounting profession. Problem-Solving Skills: Engaging students in problem-solving activities and case studies that require critical thinking and analytical skills. Encouraging students to apply accounting principles and concepts to real-world scenarios and business situations. Assessment and Evaluation: Assessing student learning and progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, such as quizzes, tests, projects, and case studies. Providing feedback and guidance to students to support their growth and improvement in accounting.
