Job description

Installation: AC technicians install new air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This involves assembling and mounting AC units, connecting refrigerant lines, electrical wiring, and ductwork, and testing the system for proper operation. Maintenance: AC technicians perform routine maintenance on air conditioning systems to keep them running efficiently and prevent breakdowns. This includes cleaning air filters, condenser coils, and evaporator coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting electrical components. Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: AC technicians diagnose and troubleshoot problems with air conditioning systems when they malfunction or fail to operate correctly. They use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, and control systems. Repair and Replacement: AC technicians repair or replace faulty components in air conditioning systems to restore proper functionality. This may involve repairing leaks in refrigerant lines, replacing worn-out motors or capacitors, or fixing electrical wiring issues. Refrigerant Handling: AC technicians handle refrigerants safely and responsibly in accordance with environmental regulations. They recover, recycle, or dispose of refrigerants properly and ensure compliance with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations regarding refrigerant handling and disposal. System Testing and Calibration: AC technicians test air conditioning systems after installation, maintenance, or repair to verify proper operation and performance.
