Job description

Installation: Install air conditioning systems, including central air units, split-systems, window units, and ductless mini-split systems, according to manufacturer specifications and building codes. Assemble components, connect ductwork, and test system functionality to ensure proper installation. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on air conditioning systems to optimize performance and efficiency. Clean air filters, coils, and condensate drains, check refrigerant levels, and lubricate moving parts to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration problems with air conditioning systems using diagnostic tools and equipment. Identify the root cause of malfunctions, leaks, or performance issues and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments to restore functionality. Repairs: Repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporator coils, capacitors, and fans, using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment. Follow manufacturer's specifications and safety protocols to ensure repairs are completed safely and effectively. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly according to EPA regulations and industry best practices. Recover, recycle, or dispose of refrigerants properly to prevent environmental contamination and ensure compliance with regulations. System Testing: Test air conditioning systems for proper operation, airflow, temperature control, and refrigerant pressure. Verify that all components are functioning correctly and that system performance meets design specifications. Ductwork Inspection: Inspect ductwork and air distribution systems for leaks, blockages, or damage that may affect airflow or efficiency. Seal duct leaks, clean ducts, and recommend repairs or upgrades to improve system performance and indoor air quality. Customer Service: Communicate with customers to assess their cooling needs, discuss repair options, and provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements. Provide responsive and professional customer service to ensure client satisfaction. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, installations, and equipment inventory. Document findings, recommendations, and work performed in service reports and maintenance logs for compliance and reference purposes. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, follow proper handling procedures for refrigerants and electrical components, and adhere to safety regulations. Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest technology, tools, and techniques in the HVAC industry through ongoing training and professional development. Attend manufacturer training sessions, industry seminars, and safety courses to enhance skills and knowledge. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency service calls for air conditioning system malfunctions, breakdowns, or safety incidents. Prioritize safety and expedite repairs to minimize downtime and restore comfort to customers' homes or businesses.
