Job description

Installation: Install new air conditioning systems, including central air units, split systems, window units, and ductless mini-split systems. Follow manufacturer guidelines, blueprints, and building codes to ensure proper installation and functionality. Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions or breakdowns in air conditioning systems, such as faulty compressors, refrigerant leaks, electrical issues, or sensor failures. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and implement solutions. Maintenance Services: Perform routine maintenance tasks on air conditioning systems to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan. Clean air filters, coils, and condensate drains, lubricate moving parts, and check refrigerant levels to ensure efficient operation. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly in accordance with EPA regulations and guidelines. Recover, recycle, or recharge refrigerant as needed during installation, repair, or maintenance activities. System Testing and Performance Evaluation: Test air conditioning systems for proper operation, temperature control, airflow, and humidity levels. Adjust settings, calibrate controls, and fine-tune components to achieve optimal performance and energy efficiency. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner to address inquiries, explain service options, and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades. Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and effectively. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, parts used, and labor hours expended. Prepare service reports, work orders, and invoices for customers and management review. Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, or hazards in the workplace. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines when working with electrical systems, heights, or hazardous materials. Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in air conditioning systems. Participate in training programs, workshops, or certifications to enhance skills and knowledge. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency service calls for air conditioning system failures or malfunctions, especially during periods of extreme weather. Prioritize urgent repairs and coordinate resources to restore service promptly. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other HVAC technicians, contractors, or building maintenance personnel to coordinate projects, share expertise, and support each other in completing tasks effectively. Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and vehicles used in air conditioning service and repair. Keep tools clean, organized, and in good working condition to ensure efficiency and safety on the job.
