Job description

Installation: Installing new air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, including mounting units, connecting refrigerant lines, wiring controls, and testing system functionality. Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks on air conditioning systems to keep them in optimal condition, including cleaning air filters, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting electrical components. Repair: Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with air conditioning systems, such as leaks, malfunctions, or inefficiencies, and performing repairs or replacements as needed to restore functionality. Service Calls: Responding to service calls from customers experiencing issues with their air conditioning systems, diagnosing the problem onsite, and implementing solutions to resolve the issue promptly. Testing and Calibration: Testing air conditioning systems to ensure they meet performance standards and regulatory requirements, including checking temperature and humidity levels, airflow, and system pressure. Refrigerant Handling: Handling refrigerants safely and responsibly, including recovering, recycling, and recharging refrigerant gases according to environmental regulations and industry best practices. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of service calls, repairs, installations, and maintenance activities, including documenting parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions. Customer Communication: Communicating effectively with customers to explain service options, provide recommendations for repairs or replacements, and address any questions or concerns they may have about their air conditioning systems. Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures when working with electrical systems and refrigerants. Continuing Education: Staying updated on industry developments, new technologies, and manufacturer specifications through training programs, workshops, and professional certifications to maintain proficiency in AC system installation, maintenance, and repair techniques. Teamwork: Collaborating with other technicians, contractors, and support staff to coordinate service calls, share knowledge and expertise, and ensure timely and efficient resolution of customer issues.
